After many years of serving local families in need, the Carmichael Family Resource Center has received some tender, loving care of its own.

Members of the Sierra Vista West Rotary Club spent an afternoon transforming the drab interior of the West End facility to give its staff and volunteers a fresher, brighter environment to work in.

Thanks to a donation of paint by Ace Hardware, the formerly pink walls are now cream, giving the two main rooms of the well-used center a cleaner, more modern look.

The club, which focusses on projects in the West End, is now working on providing the center, located next to Carmichael Elementary School, with shelving to store donations of clothing and food.

The center’s coordinator, Elizabeth Chesser, said, “I just cannot thank the West Rotary Club and its members enough. What they have done has really touched my heart.”
